Stretchable Printed Circuit

Electrically conductive silicones, developed at the Center Smart Materials and Adaptive Systems, can be imprinted on a roller screen printing unit in almost any geometry on a carrier layer of silicone, whereby  not only a flexible, but also an elastic and stretchable printed circuit is possible.

With the help of this process, it is possible to produce very thin conductive structures with a printing resolution of a few millimeters and an electrical conductivity of 0.6 S/cm can be achieved. Due to the use of conductive elastomer material, the conductivity is almost constant even under strains of up to 100%.
