Project C3PO

C3PO: Continuous Pressure Mapping with Fully Printed Piezoelectric Sensors on Rollers

C3PO pursues the innovative approach of integrating flexible, screen-printed piezoelectric sensors directly on/in/under the roll coating and thus being able to measure a process-relevant parameter without additional installation effort at the manufacturer.

This novel sensor technology, which can lead to an increase in quality, productivity and flexibility in production processes and thus contribute to an increase in value added, fits perfectly into the current industry 4.0 offensive. In addition, such a measuring system contributes to a reduction of resources (energy & material), since the quality increase on the one hand avoids rejects, on the other hand production processes can be accelerated.

CeSMA will support with its chemical competencies to assist the sensor integration into the coatings by developing new interface layers and will develop a roll-to-roll (R2R) process for upscaled and cost-effective manufacturing.
