Silicone elastomers - innovative materials for customized applications

In order to develop high-performance elastomer compounds, functional particles, fillers, or additives must be specifically incorporated into the polymer matrix. It is crucial that the matrix is optimally adapted to the respective filler in order to ensure maximum functionality.

CeSMA has many years of experience in the development of customized silicone formulations based on liquid silicones (LSR), especially for use as a soft polymer matrix for elastomer compounds.

Our formulations are accompanied by comprehensive rheological and chemical analyses to ensure the highest quality and performance. Thanks to the use of commercially available silicone components, our developments can be quickly commercialized. We also support you in finding suitable compounders to implement your products.

Targeted adjustment of material properties

Our silicone elastomers can be optimized for a wide range of requirements through the use of specific fillers:

• Electrical or thermal conductivity: e.g., conductive carbon black, metal particles, silver nanowires, boron nitride
• Mechanical reinforcement: e. pyrogenic silica, precipitated silica
• Magnetizability: e.g., carbonyl iron powder (CIP)
• Increased dielectric constant

Thanks to a customized polymer matrix, high fill levels can be achieved without significantly impairing the elasticity or processability of the material.

Adjustable material parameters

Our developments enable the targeted adjustment of the following properties:

• Processing: pot life, viscosity, thermal or UV curing, single or two-component systems
• Mechanical properties: modulus of elasticity, hardness, viscoelastic properties, fatigue strength
